Maximum BDM for D-controlled vehicle raised to 7.5 tonnes
The government has agreed to raise the maximum permissible laden weight (BDM) for D-controlled vehicles nationwide to 7.5 tonnes from the current 5 tonnes, effective immediately.
“Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the government had also agreed to raise the BDM by one to six tonnes each for two- to six-axle vehicles in the Peninsular Malaysia,” reported by the Borneo Post.

Malaysia ranked sixth in best places to retire in 2017 by International Living.
According to reports from The Sun Daily, The Malay Mail Online, The New Straits Times and Forbes, Malaysia ranked 6th in the 2017 Annual Global Retirement Index by International Living. “Malaysian cities are clean and modern, its public transport unrivaled, and its people the friendliest in Asia. And while other Asian countries offer great budget holidays and some offer first-class vacations, Malaysia manages to cater extraordinarily well to both,” quoted from International Living. Malaysia ranked 3rd in helping entrepreneurs, Utusan reports
According to a report by Utusan Malaysia Online, the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) ranked Malaysia 3rd out of 65 other countries in providing financial assistance to entrepreneurs in starting new businesses.

The Malaysian Passport Now Holds 5th Position in International Ranking
The Malaysian passport has been ranked number five in a list of the most “powerful” passports in the world. Malaysia had a score of 153, sharing the fifth group slot with Ireland, Canada, and New Zealand in the 2017 Passport Index. The fifth placing indicates the high level of travel freedom for Malaysians. A Malaysian passport gives visa-free access to 151 countries.

Penang receiving international recognition when named as one of ’17 must visit destination in 2017’ by CNN
“The Malaysia island of Penang is arguably one of Asia’s best street food destinations.
